This made me smile until my face hurt, so I thought I’d share it with you.
I’m absolutely love Jimmy Fallon – he’s the only talk show I watch! And I love Justin Timberlake as well, so this was pretty awesome for me.

Now, if only my voice friends and I could think of something so clever… ;)

My Fear Landscape

I just read Divergent by Veronica Roth. I’ve had the book for weeks, and my friends kept nagging me to read it because of how good it was. But truth be told, The Hunger Games had to be shoved down my throat(at least the first two pages). But, in the end, it was the amount of reading points that gave me the final push I needed to dive headfirst into one of my best reads this year.

No, seriously; I’m obsessed. I stayed up ALL might on a school night to finish Divergent, and then the second I finished it, I picked up Insurgent, which I’d also bought earlier. There is another great example of times when I’m lazy enough to shock myself…

On the other hand, I’m glad I waited this long, because I only have to wait a few months for the third installment to come out. I’m not one that enjoys waiting for things, and I can only reread a book so many times…

That said, it’s a great book. It’s got some serious action, humor, the right amount of drama, and romance without a love triangle! That, to me, was one of the best parts- I HATE LOVE TRIANGLES. Here’s the link to a better summary: http://www.amazon.com/Divergent-Book-1-Veronica-Roth/dp/0062024035

Now that I’ve raved a bit about my new favorite book, I would like to address the title of this post. My initial idea was to think about what might be in my fear landscape. So, I’ve come up with a few things:

8) The Kool-Aid Man – He could crash through the wall at ANY time. Enough Said.

7) Parasites (Ticks, HeartWorms, Tapeworms, etc.) – I mean, honestly. Who wants a parasite? They’re not cute.

6) Learning to Pay My Own Taxes – I suck at math, okay… :(

5) Being Buried Alive – To me, suffocation sounds like the worst possible death, by far.

4) China Dolls – They’re always watching…

3) Spiders – The sight of them doesn’t terrify me, but they vanish before I can kill… I mean set them free outside. So, how do I know if they’re still there or not? How do I know they won’t come and drink my blood while I sleep?!

Couch, here I come!

2) The Deaths of My Favorite Fictional Characters (Why, Finnick? Why?!) – They are real to ME, okay???

1) Myself – I can get pretty crazy… ;)

Yeah, that’s about it. What would be in your fear landscape?

P.S. To those of you who voted “yes” to the “Should I Go Ice-Skating” Poll, I went. And guess what else I did?
Sprained my ankle. I know, right? I warned you I was clutsy! But I had fun though, and it was nice to be invited.

Books To Read?

Status

Hey! I’m pretty big on reading, and I like to have a large selection to choose from… I seem to have exhausted most of the books my friends have suggested, so now I need other people’s opinions.

I like books with action in them, without having too much. I don’t usually like stories that revolve around murder or like topics (Hunger Games and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo being only known exceptions). I love books that can make me laugh. I like integrated romance, as long as it’s not corny and does not involve love triangles.

My Favorite Fictional Couples:
- Tris and Tobias
- Catherine and Heathcliff
- Katniss and Peeta (Sorry, Gale)
- Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy
*Now, before you freak because you think I read Wuthering Heights and Pride and Prejudice at 14, I’ll let you in on a secret: I read the short versions in modern English.

Someday, when I’m feeling patient, I’ll pick up one of the original versions and muddle my way through it. But until then, I’ll stick with my stay-up-all-night obsessive TeenReads.

Major Books I’ve Already Read:
Divergent and Insurgent, by Veronica Roth
The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins
Uglies, Pretties, and Specials, by Scott Westerfeld
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, by Stieg Larsson

Suggestion? My ears and poll box are wide open! :)

Who Remembers This Song?

Status

There was a bit of drama at school today regarding the fact that no one recognized this song but me…

First person to get the song rights gets a shout-out in the next post!:

“When you’re with me, I’m free.
I’m careless; I believe.
Above all others we’ll fly,
This brings tears to my eyes…”

A Decision Must Be Made

Status

Yesterday, I was invited to go ice-skating. And for most people, I would think it would be easy to decide. But not for me.

You see, I would love to call myself things like “graceful” and “coordinated”, but then I’d be a liar. And a horrible one at that! I have no doubt in my mind that if I don’t have solid ground, I won’t remain solidly grounded. But I hear that ice-skating is fun and supposedly easy if you have someone to teach you.

So, should I be anti-social and regret it later, or learn to live a little and risk the possible breakage of myself?

I’ll let you decide, and if the majority answers “Yes” by tomorrow, I’ll tell you how it went next update :)

SCAPA’s 2013 8th Grade Showcase

So, I decided to wait a day so I could post on the day of Showcase. A couple posts ago, I promised to post the videos from showcase. So, that’s what this week’s post is!
I would have loved a few more weeks to practice, but we had fun, and we didn’t get booed. I consider that a victory… Ha-ha!
Hope you like them…

“Goodbye (Not Over)”- This is the song I wrote. I also wrote the music. There were a few rhythm problems in the beginning, but they got fixed due to the help of our friend and accompanist, Josephine.

“2013 Goodbye Mash-Up”- This is the song that Josephine and I arranged. I sung it with some of my voice major buddies, Carrie, Jason, and Sydney. We had some crappy transitions, and some of us (ME) were not standing close enough to the microphone, but that didn’t seem to matter! ;)

“Wherever You Go”- This is the dance that my friend, AJ, did with a dance major, Camille. It made me cry <3

Well, there they are!
Thanks for listening :)

Showcase Dress = Found

Status

I just bought a blue dress for 8th Grade Showcase at Dots(http://www.dots.com/). When I was given suggestions from friends, the two colors they suggested were red and blue.
Well, I found this dress and I love it! It’s layered with a belt at the ribs. It stops at the knee, so I might try to find a heel to go with it… but that would be above and beyond.
What can I say? I’m a pants girl.
Dresses are a small step.
I like this one though ;)

10 Good Songs to Jog To

So, I tend to do more a jog than a flat-out run. Either way, it would drive me insane if I didn’t have music to keep me going. So, I have created this list to give you some great songs to keep your legs moving, straight from my iPod!

1.) Metro Station – “Shake It”: This song not only has a great beat, but it had a super buildup to the chorus line. And the way the song transitions is perfectly synced with the pace that I and most others jog. I will have this on repeat a lot, just running around the block.

2.) Avril Lavigne – Best Damn Thing: This song is just awesome. I can’t keep myself still when I hear it. It’s got a killer bass line, and the percussion section keeps everything moving perfectly. This motivates me to sing and dance and run all at the same time.

3.) Bruno Mars – Locked Out of Heaven: This song has a good beat and great bass, so you’ll be able to hear it over the pounding in your ears!

4.) Jai Ho – from “Slumdog Millionaire”: This song is pretty epic. I couldn’t understand anything they were singing, but I love to run to it. You might want to cut the last minute or so, because there is a much quieter strings section.

5.) FUN – Some Nights: This song is a great song to keep your feet surging forward. It’s a powerful epitome of an anthem with its army style beat and aggressive lead vocal.

6.) Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark(Light ‘Em Up): I just feel like really badass when I jog to this.

7.) Rob Thomas – Lonely No More: This song came out when I was a while back(2004). I loved it when I was six, and I love it now.

8.) Kings of Leon – Use Somebody: Great song. Period.

9.) Pink – Raise Your Glass: I look like an idiot every time I run down the street listening to this. I always sing along, but it’s so far down my playlist that I’m all out of breath.
Me: “We can always, we can always… PARTY ON OUR OWN!!!
Random People: *Sigh in exasperation and turn on their sprinklers*

10.) Train – Drive-by:
Me: “Oh, I swear to you, I’ll be there for you, this is not a DRIVE BI-I-I-I-Y!!!”
Random People: *Throws sticks at me*

Well, I hope you liked my list. What’s your favorite jogging song?

Thanks for reading,
Constance

My Youtube Channel

I didn’t have a lot of things on my mind this week. So, this post is a little reminder that my Youtube Channel will be back up sometime this summer. Now, I know most of you are thinking, “She had a Youtube Channel?” and I understand that, given I only had about 80 hits on each video.

But I deleted that account due to some hacking and other things. I’m starting anew, with better covers and newer original songs. I don’t have a date yet (My camera is still being fixed) but when it’s up, I’ll be sure to post a link so you all have the option of seeing it.

Also, since I now have a blog, it will be easier to gauge what songs I should do. I was thinking that every week, after my post, I can add a poll for the theme of my next song, and let my viewers vote. And, as always, you can inbox me any direct suggestions! And I always appreciate feedback ;)

So, there it is. Thanks for reading, and I’ll be back on Youtube soon :)
